Laziness and Headaches

Raincloud lounged lazily in the ShadowClan camp, coming in and out of a content doze with a small smile. The sun was warm and high in the sky - the perfect time to nap and sleep. ShadowClan was mostly active at night, but for some reason Raincloud preferred the day. It was brighter and not as...gloomy.

Of course, the medicine-cat felt rather over worked. Being awake and tending to his clanmates all night, while walking around and doing what he wanted to do in the day.

There seemed like no time for sleep. So the tom settled on a compromise; he would doze during the day - so he could enjoy the sun as well - and take it easier at night. So far he was doing okay, but, well...Raincloud suddenly got to his feet, stretched, and then headed for the the medicine den.

A headache pounded in his head as he covered his muzzle with his paws. He had been getting such pains recently, and, as he searched desperately for some feverfew to soothe his mind, Raincloud perked his ear and let out a small hiss.

Snowpool nodded, eating the leaves. She swiped a paw over her ear, and yawned. She curled up quickly, feeling a chill of cold through her spine. "Brr..." she mewed., covering her nose with her tail-tip. Once feeling warm, she uncurled and got up. "I know, I won't be back hunting alone for awhile." she mewed. "Not until I'm sure I'm okay, and have your approval." she finished.


Following her nose, Snowpool found herself in front of the Poppy Seeds, licking her lips. She had built back up her appetite she had as an apprentice for the small seeds. She bit back the urge and sat close to the Medicine cat, looking at him. "Do you have anything planned today?" she asked, mewing,

Raincloud felt his face flush as the she-cat padded close to him, thankful for the protection of his fur to block his obvious sign of embarrassment. Quickly shaking the thoughts from his head, Raincloud turned to face Snowpool.

"I am running low on herbs." he stated plainly. "I would appreciate your assistance. And it would give you some time to stretch and let me asses your current strength." Raincloud rose from his place in the nest, stretching one last time before padding to the narrow entrance, beckoning with his tail.

The she-cat nodded, following the medicine cat. Snowpool looked side to side, nervously. She tried not to show it though. She did like the shadow of the pines, however the she-cat didn't feel the comfort of it now, sadly.

"I'm going further into the territory." he informed her, noticing her hesitation and hoping to cancel it with his boldness. "I need to collect some more yarrow, and I have a supply upstream." He walked forward, stepping lightly on the spiky pines. "The sunlight is so novel - compared to this." he commented. "The moon is pretty, I know. But I just wonder what it's like for other clans, living in the sunlight. Much hotter, I promise you that." He smiled at the she-cat, resting his tail on her shoulder comfortingly.

Snowpool nodded, following. "Honestly, I like the warmth. My pelt doesn't do well in the night." she replied, politely. Still following the medicine cat, she looked to the side, smiling as she saw some mice. A very rare sight in Shadowclan. Even more in leaf-bare.

Raincloud passed by the prey silently. He knew a patrol would come and pick them up. Once far enough into the forest, he spotted a a small clump of plants, narrow and tall with tiny blossoms flowering the tops. Pleased that the store was plentiful, he bit of a few stems, motioning for Snowpool to do the same.

Snowpool watched, and nodded. Biting off the stems of a few, she almost gagged at the taste of them. Putting them in a pile, she bit off a few more. Once she thought she had gotten enough, she stopped for a moment, smelling the pines around her.
